SikhPassion
Sikhi Sikhism Gurmat Gurbani Khalsa

Sikh Passion seeks to educate sikhs and non sikhs about this great philosophy called sikhism. Sikhism is the world's first and only theocratic system that believes in freedom of speech, choice, expression, freedom of religion, pluralism, human rights, equality between men and women, equality of all people regardless of race, religion, caste, creed, status etc. Another distuingishing factor is that Sikhism doesn't actively seek converts - we believe that all paths if followed sincerely would lead to the same goal.

Sikh Passion is also a community and networking site not just for sikhs but also people who are intrigued by Sikhism.

Gurbani quotes

How To Make A Difference

Most of us just complain without actually making an effort to make a change. This is how the young sikhs might usher in a revolution

(i) Discard castist last names - upon being asked your got - answer your ancestors were the lowest of low castes but ever since they embraced khalsa they didnt have a caste any more. Refuse to participate in a discussion where caste is mentioned.

Basic Sikh Beleifs

The sikh set of beliefs is called Gurmat which is constructed around two options – The content was revealed to gurus and is thus of divine origin and second, the search for and the knowledge of truth are important, but living with these aims is the paramount goal of sikh life :

There are so many entanglements for the soul. Only as Gurmukh do we find the Gate
of Liberation.

Women in Sikhism

Women In Sikhism

According to Guru Nanak, women as a part of the divine creation could not be the carriers of pollution, nor could they be the object of man’s lust and violence for vahiguru (the lord )views men and women as equal.

Concept Of Death In Sikhism

For a Sikh mortal death is the fourth and final stage of significance to their life. This follows mortal birth, (and in no particular order) anand karaj (marriage ceremony) and amrit sanchar (initiation into the khalsa).

The human body is like a shell, it is one of many shells the soul enters in this cycle of births and deaths. The purpose of human life is to attain god realisation so we are no longer confined to the painful cycle of births and deaths in various different life forms. Dhan Dhan Satguru Arjan Sahib speaks:

BeI prwpiq mwnuK dyhurIAw ]
